WOMEN’S boxing continued to deliver, as Lauren Parker and Giuseppina Di Stefano produced a cracker for the vacant European super-flyweight title atop the Goodwin Boxing show at York Hall.

Parker, from Stevenage, thrilled her numerous fans by winning a unanimous decision after 10 two-minute rounds – but only after being pushed all the way by her Italian opponent.

Di Stefano may have been seven years older at 39, but she stormed forward throughout and made Parker work hard for her scorecards of 97-92 (Erkki Meronen), 96-93 (Pavel Hynek) and 95-94 (Vladislavs Kadikis).
