Pit Cherries with a Metal Straw

To pit cherries or large olives, Katie Herrera of Hoboken, N.J., perches the fruit atop a bottle and then pushes the pit out with a metal reusable drinking straw. If the pit gets stuck in the straw, she simply inserts a wooden skewer in one end to push it out the other side.
