EVEN BEFORE NETTI VONTHETHOFF had been to the house, she knew she’d found her new home. It was the real-estate photos of the built-in bar and staircase that did it. “And then I got there and saw the backyard with all that concrete,” she says. “I’ve always wanted to be able to hose my own concrete!” A fixture on the Canberra vintage scene, it was almost inevitable that Netti would beat the dozens of other potential renters to score the house – she and the ’60s suburban one-off are made for each other.
