WHEN EMILY CHALMERS AND HER HUSBAND, CHRIS, WERE LOOKING FOR AN ABODE IN EAST LONDON THEY ASKED THE REAL ESTATE AGENT IF HE HAD ANYTHING UNUSUAL ON HIS BOOKS. THE DESCRIPTION OF “EX-INDUSTRIAL AND DUE FOR DEVELOPMENT” WAS ENOUGH TO PIQUE THEIR CURIOSITY AND IT TURNED OUT TO BE PERFECT.

It was Chris who went to view the old warehouse while Emily was working. After he described it to her over the phone, her response was an emphatic, “Take it!” The stylist, shop owner and author of interior decoration tomes such as and wasted no time in making the space her own, and has now been happily housed there for eight years.
