The 1955 Cream Puff

My parents never bought a car right off the assembly line. Each car was used; the term pre-owned hadn’t been coined yet. Dad said he wanted it to be “broken in,” which made it sound like a bucking bronco.

A newer model, always an Oldsmobile, was bought only when our older car needed expensive repairs. Dad had a favoritechrome-and-steel love matches, would call Dad when he saw a car come in that he thought would suit him.
