Minister summoned to Parliament to explain why Rwanda plan bill soaring to £290 million

A minister has been summoned to Parliament to explain why the bill for Rishi Sunak’s flagship Rwanda immigration plan is soaring to £290 million.

Lord Speaker, Lord McFall of Alcluith, accepted a request from Lord Collins of Highbury, Labour’s foreign affairs spokesman in the Upper Chamber, for a Private Notice Question (PNQ) on the issue.

It states: “To ask His Majesty’s Government what additional costs they expect to be incurred as a result of this week’s signing of a treaty to facilitate the removal of migrants to Rwanda.”
