“I was born insatiably curious and full of energy. From an early age I would get into trouble with my mum for being outside the house too often, and staying late past curfew-time, ostensibly exploring my neighbourhood to discover who or what was new. In school, I was the sociable student who joined any club, so long as it promised activity that would involve the outdoors, adventure or learning a skill. And throughout my working career, while travelling all over the world, whether for work or play, any excursion that involved a new experience (particularly adrenaline-charged) would (and will) always win over easygoing ‘feet-up’ leisure-type alternatives.”
