Mature Bordeaux in the spotlight
Auction house Christie’s has reported strong buyer interest in mature Bordeaux wines from the 1980s and 1990s, following a recent online sale hosted in Los Angeles.
First-growth wines from a single owner’s collection entitled ‘the quintessential modern cellar’ were among the auction’s top sellers.
‘We witnessed strong bidding for mature Bordeaux from classic vintages from the eighties and nineties,’ said Chris Munro, head of fine wine and spirits for Christie’s in the Americas region. Top Bordeaux lots included:
