In recent years, Australia has built a reputation as the team to beat in the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE). And not just in one class, in all three of the main classes: World Trophy, Junior Trophy and Women's Trophy. Our results in the last decade have been impressive especially when you consider we usually have to travel the further than any other nation (well, expect New Zealand). So, it would be understandable if the riders felt it was all too hard to get there.
That's not the attitude of the female riding fraternity in Australia. Some of the focus in the build up to this year's ISDE in Argentina was all about how Motorcycling Australia (MA) weren't supporting an Aussie contingent to get to the ISDE. Both the World Trophy and Junior Trophy teams decided that without financial support from our governing body, racing at the ISDE was not an option, but not our female competitors.
