Wonka movie review: Timothée Chalamet is simply scrumptious in this rollicking sweet treat

While watching Wonka, the new film by the brilliant Paddington director Paul King, I was reminded of some crucial life lessons, such as: don’t believe the trailers.

The Wonka trailer didn’t have songs in it. And yet, the second the titles roll in the spirals up a ship’s mast like on that rainy lamp post and starts belting out a show tune. A syrupy one too.
