At the Forefront of Change

Fintech is flourishing in Hong Kong. Already there are about 500 companies across sectors from blockchain and digital assets to payments and remittance, according to the Hong Kong FinTech Report 2023, released in October by the FinTech Association of Hong Kong (FTAHK), in collaboration with FinTech Consult.

These companies are also appealing places to work, it seems. Across Hong Kong, fintech accounts for more than 25,000 employees—which, at 0.66 per cent of the total local workforce, represents the highest percentage in Asia, according to FTAHK’s research. Singapore is next, with 0.29 per cent.
