Hamas-Israel war could severely impact Kanpur leather business

 The Israel-Hamas war is likely to impact Kanpur’s leather business, affecting exports worth about Rs150 crore. This could lead to a huge loss, so the city’s leather exporters have started trying to find a middle path. The loss could go above Rs 1,000 crore.

Kanpur, known for its leather industry, exports all over the world. Goods worth 600 to 800 crores are sent to Israel alone. This year the demand has been even higher. In the current situation, however, businesses there are avoiding ordering goods.
