My main layout, ‘Midholme’ is not permanently-erected at home and splits into five separate pieces, which are stored in various parts of the house. Consequently, I wanted to have a permanent test track, which included a cross over so that I could test my stock. Current N gauge standards are quite good but, working with code 40 track, I have found that some of the backtobacks needed adjustment. A test track would be helpful to test running standards, but also it is satisfying
