In this issue, we speak to Englishman, Phil Pound, a multi-award winning wildlife photographer based in Ireland. You may have seen some of Phil’s stunning images in the Readers Gallery of past issues. His images really caught our eye and we decided to delve a little deeper into the person capturing such high-quality images to learn more about him and how he goes about capturing such great images. He gives great insight into how to go about capturing wildlife images so hopefully you can get something out of his knowledge that you can apply to your own photography.

Wildlife Photographer/Commercial Photographer, if I am not busy working in a studio, I am out the door photographing the local wildlife.
Short Bio:
I am an Englishman, living and working in Ireland for the last 22 years. Working fulltime in my photography company which now specialises in photographing works of Art, paintings, drawings and sculptures etc. If the weather is good, the tide is right and I can get away, I can be found photographing the local wildlife here in West Cork.
I grew up in the south of England on a dairy farm not far from a village called Corfe Castle. You might know the location especially if you are a Landscape Photographer. A Dairy Farm near Corfe Castle is where it all began.

I was brought up to enjoy nature and have a respect for animals and our environment. Apart from working on our family farm, my first job leaving school was as a Veterinary Nurse, working in various practices over the years with farm animals,
