LET THE GAMES BEGIN (NEARLY)

THE 2024 Paris Olympics and Paralympics are looming larger on the horizon.

The Paris 2024 organising team gave an update on detailed logistics for next summer’s equestrian events at Versailles at the FEI sports forum (24–25 April).

Horses will be stabled by discipline, rather than by nation, and there will be tight turnaround arrival and departure windows. The eventers will be first to arrive on 24 July, followed by dressage horses on 26 July. The event horses leave on 29 July, ahead of the showjumpers’ arrival the following day.

Horses galloped across a purposebuilt pontoon over Versailles’ historic Grand Canal in the test event in August (pictured, below). Two pontoon crossings will feature in the cross-country track.
