MAKING THE MOST of your holiday time is important, and it pays to be able to carry stuff that can get you out of a fix and enhance the time you spend in your caravan. But you need to select what to take with care – filling the storage areas in your van with items you'll never need or use is a waste of money and space.

That's where we come in, to help you sift through the myriad products out there and drill down to the key kit you really need. So what would we pack?

1 Screwdriver set

From reattaching wonky cupboard doors to replacing batteries in the children's toys, screwdrivers are infinitely useful. Many socket sets include a selection of bits and a handle, but it can be useful to have a standalone set, because they are inexpensive and come in handy for all sorts of things.

We'd recommend looking at Wera sets, which are excellent quality and will last a lifetime without breaking the bank.
