There’s never a good time for kitchen appliances to break down. Whether it’s something small like a coffee machine for your morning cuppa, or a household essential like a fridge-freezer or washing machine, these are the crucial gadgets that stop us from feeling like we’re living in the Stone Age.

The trouble is, appliances aren’t exactly the cheapest of things; the biggest white goods are in the triple figures at least. At a time when everyone is watching the pennies as well as the pounds, having to shell out for new can put a serious dent in your finances. Far from ideal with Christmas on its merry way.
