CHRISTMAS PAST AND PRESENT

Sitting around the black, glittery Christmas tree in our lodge, I could feel the magic of the special day hanging in the air.

Every year since 2010, we followed our family tradition of spending Christmas at Center Parcs in Sherwood Forest.

Being such an active family, with my mum Melissa, 45, previously a badminton teacher and me, my sister Megan, 20, and my dad Alan, 46, all participating in the sport, it was the perfect way for us to spend the most wonderful time of the year together.

But of course, my grandma Barbara, 72, didn’t participate – she just watched!

Although, my grandpa Gordon, 73, was determined to get involved, no matter the activity at hand.

Going out to the Italian restaurant for a meal on Christmas Eve and waking up the next morning all excited, we settled in
