The author of Duel in the Deep talked to World War II about his book. Here’s an excerpt.

I happen to live on the East Coast. I also happen to be a navy veteran who servedand the USS which was a World War I-era U.S. Navy destroyer. The final deciding element in this is that a lot of the sailors aboard the were youngsters from New Jersey, and I happen to live in New Jersey, so that kind of added a whole new element as well.
