BY THE TIME you read this, the awards ceremony will have happened, the great and good of the classic and performance car world having gathered at a famous London venue for a night of celebration unrivalled on the classic calendar. Now in their 13th year, The Historic Motoring Awards are the only truly global recognition of endeavour in our industry, and they are by far the most prestigious accolade for enthusiasts and ‘the trade’ alike. The Awards span everything from glamorous concours to gritty restoration, from people just starting out in the classic car world to those who have already dedicated a lifetime to it. Yet they represent so much more than that: they also acknowledge the people, manufacturers and organisations that do so much to support our world, even if not directly involved in it. We welcomed more people than ever before to the ceremony in the spectacular Dorchester Ballroom on Park Lane for the evening, but even if you couldn’t join us there, we hope you will join us in acknowledging and applauding all our winners and runners up. As ever, the roll call of those I must thank is enormous, but at its head are our sponsors and above all our new headline sponsor Chubb. Our panel of judges continue to shine when faced with the near-impossible task of selecting winners from so many brilliant candidates, while John and Janice Pitchforth of the Heritage Skills Academy have our eternal gratitude for their help with the Apprentice award.
