I’M GLAD STING announced his retirement in advance, breaking the news to fans during the October 18 edition of AEW Dynamite that he would compete in his final match at the Revolution pay-per-view in March. This will give the wrestling community time to appropriately honor the legend called Sting.

To me, Sting has been The Undertaker for the world outside WWE. Equals in terms of star power and athletic ability, both men tapped into a mythical quality (for Undertaker, as the “Dead Man,” and, for Sting, thanks to his “Crow” persona). Very few performers—Sting, Undertaker, and, of course, Andre The Giant—have captivated our imaginations in quite that way.
