The Serco NorthLink era

NorthLink Ferries Serco Marine Services, with more than 100 vessels supporting the Royal Navy, Royal Marines and Fleet Auxiliary at six UK locations including Portsmouth and Devonport, formally took over the NorthLink Ferries services to Orkney and Shetland on 5 July 2012 after another tendering process for the North Isles service.
