The success of next year’s national and provincial elections will depend on many factors but an outstanding one is the voter turnout.
The question is: How many voters are going to participate in the elections? Five years ago, the percentage declined dramatically and another decline now would be a bad reflection on the South African democracy.
Voter turnout is the percentage of registered voters who participate in an election. All South African citizens who are 18 years and older qualify to register as voters.
In the past, the problem started before the elections, when the number of eligible voters who
