Painting these adorable birds is a must at Christmas and by doing this every year tor a number of years I have not only got better at painting them (practice, practice) but have also given many family members and friends a personal gift of cards, gift tags or even presents.

This study of a parent and fledgling robin will teach you how to loosen up brushstrokes, work wet into wet in a controlled way, and create a fluffy feathery feel to the little bird. It is quite a small, simple shape and will be the perfect subject on which to practise your watercolour skills.

When you are ready to paint, make sure you have your colour puddles ready to use as this will be a wet-into-wet painting in order to achieve
