01 Alfa Romeo
As you will discover throughout this feature, the 16-brand-strong Stellantis Group is set for a busy 2024, which includes preparation of a new production facility in Gqeberha for the Peugeot Landtrek double-cab bakkie.
Speculated: Despite the fact that Stellantis was not forthcoming in confirming any local activity from Alfa Romeo for the coming 12 months, we suspect it is looking into the viability of introducing the Tonale plug-in hybrid.
Also a strong possibility internationally – and likely in the pipeline for introduction into SA as early as possible – is an expected new all-electric compact SUV that will share its platform with the Jeep Avenger.
02 Aston Martin
In case you have not yet placed your order, expect the new DB12 Volante to go on sale in South Africa within the first half of 2024.
03 Audi
Confirmed: As early as February, locally grown special derivatives of the current A3, Q3 and A5 will be added to their respective line-ups. The A4 and Q5 will receive similar treatment later in the year. Interestingly, a TDI version of the top-selling Q3 will join the fleet by June.
Facelifted examples of the Q7, as well as the SQ7 and Q8, will arrive by July, with the updated A3 set to launch later in the year.
In terms of new propulsion, Audi has confirmed the Q8 e-tron and Q6 e-tron are set to arrive in May and within Q4, respectively.
Speculated: Considering Audi’s renewed local focus on driving experiences and strong selection of RS models, we will be surprised not to see even hotter versions of models like the RS 3 and TT arriving, if in limited numbers.
It is hard not to imagine Audi South Africa pushing to launch its most affordable global EV, the Q4 e-tron, in our market.
