There are already plans for a ‘postbiological’ Elton John! Yes, the Piano Man may be alive and kicking, but Ben Casey, CEO of creative agency Spinifex, is capturing every aspect of his performances, speech and behaviour to make sure later replicationsrecreated a six-minute virtual reality video including Elton’s iconic first concert in California when he was 23. The original recording was mapped onto a body double to capture Elton’s finger movements and detailed mannerisms. This 3D data was applied to a computer image, making it completely lifelike. This same fancy tech could one day help us all live on… virtually.
