July 4th 2022 was a sad day for the British fishing tackle industry: Zziplex, one of the UK’s heritage fishing brands, closed its doors and stopped making rods. It was the end of an era; one that had spanned since the spring of 1980, which included the highs of once dominating the tournament casting circuit and being the first choice of many match anglers and specimen fishermen alike.
