Deciding which aperture to set can be challenging, but it gets easier with practice and experience. And the kind of photos you like taking matters a great deal. If you shoot wildlife, most of the time you’ll be using wide apertures, high ISOs and a fast shutter, while for landscapes it’s more about small lens apertures, low ISOs and a slow shutter. Ifinterests are more general, however, then you’ll need to think on your feet – varying settings to suit what you’re photographing. If your camera offers custom shooting modes, you could dedicate a subject to each setting to make life easier. Custom mode one could geared up for landscapes, for example, mode two for birds and mode three for macro.
