t’s been a sad week in the office after the death of beloved star Matthew Perry. Many of us grew up watching and it was Chandler Bing, in particular, who shaped our sense of humour and even the way we spoke back in the ’90s. I mean, could he have any funnier? You can read our tribute on page 10. Meanwhile, after her eye-opening interview with Edna Swart about her shock pregnancy (page 14), deputy editor Amy joined me for a preview screening of Tom Sainsbury’s haunting and hilarious new film where we cackled and cowered behind our boxes of popcorn in equal measure. Read all about the Kiwi comedian’s foray into fatherhood on page 24. Last week, I was also lucky enough to dine with top chef Michael Meredith at his incredible new Pacific-inspired restaurant Metita – see our story on page 32 – and I mingled with judge Manu Feildel at a lunch hosted by Spotlight. But possibly the week’s cutest moment was joining our columnist Jay-Jay for a fun photo shoot with our pets. This is me with my husband Gavin and our elderly beagle Merrylegs – Jay-Jay’s pic with pup Kanye is on page 89.
