Australian road vehicles

A model railway is generally not complete without a range of road vehicles of the correct scale, era and local prototype. Fortunately, we are reasonably well catered for, whether our scale is N, HO, Sn3½ or O. Some of the manufacturers such as Trax and Cooee Classics produce Australian prototype vehicles, while others such as Oxford Models produce British vehicles, many of which ran or currently run on Australian roads.

N scale modelers are fortunate in that Oxford produce a wide range of modern and older cars, commercial vehicles and trucks in 1/148 scale. The latter tend to have British liveries and signage, but they could easily be repainted. These models are widely available in good hobby shops.

O scale modelers are even better catered for with the excellent range of 1/43 scale cars,
