ANYONE WHO HAS been involved with horses for several years is likely to have experienced a near miss on the roads, especially if they hack out regularly. I have certainly had my fair share of unwanted close encounters with vehicles, and the worst occurredsqueezed his car between her horse and a parked vehicle, missing both by the width of a credit card. Hat cameras weren't quite so popular at the time, but their use is inevitably growing among equestrians, and with good reason. Additionally, there is encouraging news this month in the form of a police initiative that should now make it easier to report dangerous drivers by submitting that hat camera footage or pictures.
