Archaeology: THE GREAT BRITISH DIG

Tony Robinson’s famously faffed around in fields and open spaces allback gardens are off limits to archaeologists. Until now, it seems. The show, which apparently provided some comfort during various UK lockdowns, gains the permission of homeowners to dig for long-buried artefacts and structures. Season three begins with a search for the remains of spymaster Sir Francis Walsingham’s grand house in Odiham, Hampshire, which was visited by Queen Elizabeth I. Other locations in the series include Oldham, Norfolk and Coventry.
