Waves of HAPPINESS

Stepping onto the beach, I felt memories flooding back with every step I took.

My parents had taken me to Skegness since I was a girl and now I wanted to continue the tradition with my own family.

Pushing my little boy Joey, then two, in his wheelchair, I breathed in the fresh sea air as Maisie, nine, and Connor, 12, ran beside us.

It doesn’t get better than this.

I had found out I was pregnant with Joey in March 2019 – he was my first baby with my partner Tom, 38.

The pregnancy had gone smoothly and Maisie and Connor couldn’t wait to meet their baby brother.

That is, until I got to 27 weeks…

Coming home from a family party, I felt so nauseous.

‘I think I may have overdone it with the quiche,’ I said to Tom. ‘I don’t feel right.’

‘Oh dear, maybe have an early night,’ he replied.

Except, I woke up at 6am to find I was sitting
