Hire consultants for needed studies

hen lacking ample staff to do planning, state and local agencies often hire consultants to prepare preliminary draft management plans using agency-approved templates. The Explorer’s recent well-written and informative articles indicate we need updated Unit Management Plans (“The long wait for forest preserve plans” September/October) and capacity plans for lakes and trails in the park (“Will the state study lake carrying capacity?” September/October). Perhaps it is time for the Department of Environmental Conservation
