The art of Artemisia
The masterpieces of one of Italy’s finest and most influential artists will be exhibited at Genoa’s Palazzo Ducale for the first time. ‘Artemisia Gentileschi: Courage and Passion’ is an exciting new exhibition celebrating the life and works of the legendary 17th-century artist. More than 50 of her masterpieces will be on display, shining a light on the life, works and relationships of a truly trailblazing painter who achieved success through a mixture of talent and tenacity at a time when society made it difficult for women to be successful in the field of art. The exhibition has been organised by art experts Arthemisia in association with Palazzo Ducale Foundation for Culture, Municipality of Genoa and the Liguria Region, and takes place from 16 November 2023 to 1 April 2024.
