Hanging out at the playground with my youngest Alasdair, then 10, I watched him run over to the swing set.
I’m just a big kid myself, I chuckled, as I sat on the swing next to him and soared into the air.
‘When I was your age, I wanted to break the world record for the longest time on a swing,’ I told my boy. Why don’t I? I thought. It was July 2021, and together in the park we googled the world record. It was 34 hours.
