Denyse Thomasos: A Force to Be Reckoned With

A MUCH-DESERVED career retrospective for the painter Denyse Thomasos will be shown at the Vancouver Art Gallery from November 10th through March 24, 2024. The exhibition, “Denyse Thomasos: Just Beyond,” will showcase over 70 paintings and works on paper. Thomasos, who received an MFA from the Yale School of Art in 1989, had a mere 23 years of painting before she died unexpectedly in 2012. Nevertheless, she produced a powerful body of work in that short span of time, securing a place as one of the finest contemporary artists of her generation.
