Once a year, Namaqualand throws a colourful floral display that attracts visitors like swarms of bees. And then, when the flowers fade, the tourists also disappear like the morning mist. It is therefore easy to overlook this region at other times of the year when you rush through on your way to Namibia.
Namaqualand is, however, a place wherefeatures. The 4×4 trail in the Goegap Nature Reserve outside Springbok is a great example of this: it is one of the best flower-viewing trails, but also an excellent route throughout the year. Especially if you want to avoid the flurry of tourists.
