Cash in on ecommerce boom

The industrial and logistics property sector is shaping up as a strong investment option for real estate investors looking to diversify. While the values of other commercial property sectors - notably office and retail - fell in the year to June, prime industrial values rose nearly 4%, according to research from real estate agent Colliers.

Demand for industrial property is booming on the back of an explosion in ecommerce (think Amazon etc), leading to low vacancy rates (0.8% at June) and rising rentals (up 40% in the 18 months to June).
