When Alison Smith set a goal to summit Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro, she had no idea of the humbling experience that lay ahead.

Kili is Africa’s highest mountain at 5 895m and is located in Tanzania. After an eight-hour flight to Ethiopia and another three hours to Tanzania, Smith found herself face to face with the mountain that would humble her in ways that she had never experienced before.
