Marvellous Mia Going For Gold

Jogging beside my little girl as she ran her heart out, I congratulated her when she got to the finish line of the 50m sprint race.

‘You did great,’ I told five-year-old Mia, even though she came in last.

Like most kids Mia’s age, she loved Little Athletics. Except, at just 85cm tall, Mia wasn’t like other kids.

When she was born, doctors diagnosed her with anchondroplasia dwarfism – a genetic condition that affects her height and the size of her limbs.
