Mini-horses beat the big ’uns

Miniature horses took top honours in competition with ‘normal’ horses.

Miniature horses are beginning to take their rightful place in the horse world. After many years of being treated as no more than pets or toys for children, they are now being taken seriously by people who know horses and are even winning prizes in competition with purebred horses of normal size. So says Welma Joubert, of Turn (pronounced Toorn) Miniature Horse stud, near Baviaanspoort, just north of Pretoria.
