BATAAN IS BACK

A Lockheed Constellation that returned to the air on June 20, 2023, has served many masters—including General of the Army Douglas MacArthur—during its nearly 75-year history. It has now begun a new chapter as it launches an airshow career following an eight-year restoration by Texan collector Rod Lewis for his Air Legends Foundation. Lewis had the restoration work done by Fighter Rebuilders of Chino, California.

The graceful four-engine transport was built as a military C-121A and entered service with the U.S. Air to commemorate his history with the Philippines in World War II and used it during the Korean War as a flying command post.
