City’s appeal for water relief

sERVICE DELIVERY

THE Department of Water and Sanitation (DWS) has intervened in the management of some of eThekwini Municipality’s wastewater treatment plants and its water supply output as the City struggles to provide service delivery.

The department confirmed it has secured multi-billion-rand grants on behalf of the municipality for the Mkomazi Water Project at the southern end of Durban, which would alleviate the city’s water supply issues.

It has also confirmed that a deal to bring uMngeni-uThukela Water (UUW) on board
