She ran in no-nonsense fashion for 26 years – but it turns out Biddy Baxter scared the living daylights out of certain presenters. Yvette Fielding was the show’s youngest ever host when she joined in 1987 at 18 but she has said that Biddy was so impossible to please that she quit after a year. She was persuaded to stay, but it was only wheneditor retired that Yvette started to enjoy the show. Branding Biddy ‘incredibly cruel’, the star claimed she was repeatedly told that she was ‘absolutely useless’.
