Dartmouth in Devon is a special place for artist, Richard Leslie Lewis. ‘It bustles with small boats, large boats and yachts, dinghies and ferries but when you look out on the water with a painting in mind painter. I like to take everything back to the studio, lay things out, make thumbnails, and decide what works for the painting. I don't feel I have to slavishly reproduce photographs; what works for the camera doesn't necessarily work on canvas.
