THE Phoenix Settlement Trust, located on the homestead of Mahatma Gandhi, is upgrading its premises and requires community assistance.
Gandhi arrived in South Africa in 1893 to represent businessman Dada Abdulla in a civil court case. The peace activist then bought 100 acres (40ha) of land in 1904.
