Ham radio is a hobby. As such, it is supposed to provide us with a break from the concerns of everyday life, such as job issues, family matters, paying the bills, etc. But there are times when real-world realities bump into our hobby space and make it difficult to keep the two spheres separate. This is one of those times.
For those of us who support the amateur radio hobby – by manufacturing and selling equipment, protecting our frequencies and operating privileges, and publishing books and magazines – ham radio is a business, and our businesses are subject to the same
