Not only because of the additional controls on the logically structured user interface, the UNO Synth Pro X appears much more mature. The elimination of the touch keyboard in favor of normal buttons and the surface made of metal instead of fingerprint-attracting black plastic also make the X version appear significantly more valuable. The sound generation features three oscillators and two filters, plus three digital effects from the areas of modulation, delay and reverb that can be used in parallel, and an analog drive. External sound generators can also be sent through filters and effects. UNO Synth PRO X also has a 64-step sequencer with parameter automation, CV and gate and a special bassline mode. This sounds like a convincing package for analog riffs.
Prehistory
IK Multimedia has been developing software and hardware for over 20 years. About 6 years ago, with the active support of Erik Norlander, who was already one of the driving forces behind the synthesizer battleship Alesis Andromeda, the affordable analog mono synthesizer UNO Synth was released. The first hardware synthesizer of the Italian company had respectable success with its independent analog sound, but also had to accept criticism for the toy-like packaging.
The successor UNO Synth Pro, on the other hand, was already a different caliber, at least in the keyboard version: Solid metal housing and a high-quality Fatar keyboard
