NEVER BREAK THE CHAIN
In 2019, Evanescence released a cover of The Chain that reimagined it as what lead singer Amy Lee described as “a dark and epic picture”. Set against a wall of tribal drums, guitars and madly sawing orchestral strings, Lee’s voice wails with emotion.
“The lyrics make me feel the power of standing together against great forces trying to pull us apart, perhaps even from the inside,” Lee said. “I really wanted to drive that home in our version.”
Evanescence’s cover was included in the popular videogame Gears Of War 5.
